The phrase “mind over matter” – Merrian Webster defines this phrase as: used to describe a situation in which someone is able to control a physical condition, problem, etc., by using the mind.
This may sound like a nice concept, or something we say to someone who is down and out in order to build encouragement, but the truth is far closer to reality than the idea that this statement is nothing but fluff.
Once we begin to understand where our power truly lies, is the moment we get to change the trajectory of our lives. A good place to start is to get out of the mind set that things happen to us, but rather they happen because of us. As Newton’s third law states, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”. The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object. This doesn’t just refer to the physical action of throwing a ball or swinging a bat, this is also a law of things unseen.
When we apply power to anything, something will move. That works for us OR against us. So, choosing to step out a victim mindset and into a mindset of control, you will in turn stop becoming a victim and gain control, and things begin to change. It’s not magic, it’s quantum physics.
Apply this to your life daily and actively watch things change, and with each change momentum will be built. Practice makes perfect.
Whether it’s your career, your family or a personal area of growth, it all starts with you and your mindset. It’s your choice!
